MHS Baseball splits weekend set

The Madison High School Baseball team split a pair of games on Saturday, falling to Redfield 8-2, and then defeating Baltic 10-2.

The Bulldogs fell behind early in game 1. With Redfield putting up 2 runs in the first innings, and 3 more in the second. Redfield belted out 8 runs on 8 hits, with 6 walks. 

The Madison offense bounced back to put up 10 runs against Baltic. Trey Smith had 2 hits for the Bulldogs. Calvin Kelsey and Peyton Wolf each scored 2 runs. Lucas Mork picked the win, tossing 4 scoreless innings and striking out three. 

Madison baseball improved to 7-3 on the season, and are currently ranked 4th in the South Dakota High School Baseball poll. The Bulldogs will host Howard tomorrow, before playing a triple-header on Sunday.
