Members of Lake County Aces Compete at National Events

It’s been a busy season for members of the Lake County Aces 4-H Youth Shooting Sports. Four members of the program have competed in national events this summer.

Hunter Hanson qualified for South Dakota National 4-H, on the air pistol team. Hanson competed June 25th through the 30th in Grand Island Nebraska against teams from across the country. Then July 6th through the 9th, Danica Perez, Brookelynn Mallett, and Ella Hanson competed at the Daisy Nationals BB Gun Championships in Arkansas.

Kelly Hanson with Lake County Aces says more members of the program are seeing success on a national or even international level.

Hanson says the program has seen significant growth in Lake County.

She says the growth and success would not be possible without generous volunteer support.

In the 4-H National, Hunter Hanson finished 10 in Slow Fire, and 4th in Rapid Fire. Team South Dakota was 3rd overall. At the Daisy Nationals, Brookelynn Mallett took 2nd place in the Standing event in the Champions Division, and finished 7th overall. Ella Hanson was 15th overall. Danica Perez placed 13th in Air Rifle.
