The Madison Softball team swept a pair of games from Pipestone, MN on Sunday, winning via scores of 15-4 and 15-9.  In game one, Madison scored eight runs in the first to set the tone for the game as they collected 21 total hits. Austyn Smit was 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 5 RBI and Kelsey O’Connell went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI. Each starter had at least a hit.

Game two, the Bulldogs jumped out to an 11-0 lead after an inning and a half on their way to victory. They surpassed their game one total, as game two saw 24 hits including at least two by each starter! Izzy Gors had four hits in the contest, Emmi Clarke drove in three and all but one starter drove in a run.

A balanced attack led to the sweep for Madison Softball (6-4 on the season), who will be an action this weekend in Sioux Falls for the Fall Tournament.

 

Madison Volleyball picked up a straight set sweep over West Central on Monday night at home via scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-20. Sophie VandenBosch had 11 kills to pace the Bulldog attack, Kendra Leighton produced nine digs and Grace Nelson provided 11 assists. With the victory, MHS improved to 11-6 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday on the road vs. Hamlin. Madison will then have a four out of five games at home stretch.
