Madison Ready to Roll: Game Preview – Bulldogs vs Chargers
The Madison Bulldogs (0-3) will travel to Sioux Falls Christian (1-2) tonight to take on the Chargers at Bob Young Field on the campus of the University of Sioux Falls.
The Bulldogs are still searching for win number one on the year. It’s the first time since the 2011-2012 season that the Bulldogs started the season 0-3. They’ll need to find their offense on the road, where they average just 10 points per game. It’s been a tough road schedule in the first two outings, both games being against teams who just saw the 11A Championship game in 2022.
They’re primed for a good matchup with Sioux Falls Christian who has just one win on the year. That came last week vs Dakota Valley, which is who the Bulldogs will host next week for Homecoming.
The Bulldogs come into the game with a pair of linebackers who lead their team in tackles. Senior Eli Barger leads the pack with 32 total tackles and junior Jordan Pederson with 30 of his own. Pederson also leads the team 5.5 tackles-for-loss and senior Andrew Comes continues to lead the pack with four interceptions on the year.
The Chargers will start five players on both sides of the ball. It’s similar to what the Bulldogs have done this season. Their starting line on both sides of the ball is a bit inexperienced. Which will work to the advantage of seniors like Parker Johnson and Braxton Bjorklund on defense.
Kickoff for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7pm with pregame beginning at 6:30pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
