Madison Legion season ends in loss to Baltic

Madison Post 25 had their baseball season come to an end on Wednesday night, in a 16-3 loss to Baltic in the Region 2B tournament. Baltic jumped out to the early lead, scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning. Madison rallied for a pair of runs in the 2nd, including a solo home run from Lucas Johnson. But Baltic put up 3 runs in each of the next two innings to secure the win.

Braxton Bjorklund had the only other RBI hit for Madison. Jake Olson to the loss on the mound. Beau Keith, Tayde Hansen and Riley Schultz each had multi hit games for Baltic. Hanson went the distance, striking out 7 Madison batters over six innings.

Baltic then took on Volga in another elimination game last night, with Volga picking up a 7-6 win. Volga Post 114 will now get a chance for the Region 2B Championship. Volga will take on Dell Rapids tonight at 5:30. Volga will need to defeat Dells twice tonight to advance to State.
