The 2019 Dakota-12 Boys Golf Tournament was held at Spring Creek Golf Course in Harrisburg yesterday. Sioux Falls Christian claimed top honors as a team with a 315, Madison placed second with a 327 and West Central third with a team score of 329. 

Madison’s Braden Eimers was the meet medalist, shooting an even par round of 72, two strokes better than the Chargers Carson Van Beek. Keaton Nighbert finished 12th for Madison with a round of 81. Dylan DeJong shot an 85, and Ty Jorgenson an 89. 

The Dell Rapids boys finished 7th as a team. Zach McKee led the Quarriers with a round of 83, good for 15th place. 

Next for the Bulldogs is the Region 1A Meet, at Meadow Creek Golf Course in Volga, on Monday.

 

The Madison Cross Country teams traveled for the Bon Homme invite yesterday. Chamberlain was the top team on the Girls side with Madison placing fifth and Ellie Keller lead the Bulldogs with an 11th place finish. Hartington/New Castle claimed the boys title with Madison coming in fourth. The MHS boys were led by Isaiah Klockman with a 10th place finish. Madison Cross Country will be back in action Thursday in Brookings.

 

Madison Volleyball picked up a 3-0 sweep of Lennox last night via scores of 26-24, 25-23 and 25-17. The Bulldogs were led by Grace Nelson who had 13 assists to go along with 10 kills, Abbey Brooks had nine kills with three blocks and Morgan Anderson had nine digs with two aces. With the win, MHS improved to 7-3 and are back in action tonight at home versus Chamberlain, a game you can hear on AM1390 and amazingmadison.com with first serve for varsity at 7:30pm
