Madison Bulldogs Stumble Offensively; Lose 35-7 to West Central

The Madison Bulldogs came up short against West Central on the road, losing 35-7 at Jim Uttecht Stadium.
Bulldogs fall to 0-3 on the year and the Trojans improve to 3-0. It was one of those days for Madison. The offense never found itself within the game and some costly turnovers put the game out of reach.
Madison quarterbacks finished with three interceptions, one from Cohen Hahn and two from Ben Brooks. A mix of miscommunication and sound defense from West Central.
Three different guys came away with INT’s for the Trojans and one was returned for a touchdown. A pick-six being something that came cause some heads to hang for any team.
Another night where the run game didn’t help with obtaining momentum and extending drives. The Bulldogs finished with nearly as many carries as yards with 20 carries for 23 yards. It makes it easier for teams to game plan for you when they know the run is not a threat.
West Central made big plays in the special teams department. They had both a kick and punt return for a touchdown in the game. Three of their five touchdowns came on defense and special teams.
The Bulldogs were still able to get some takeaways in the game. Andrew Comes got yet another INT, matching his total from last season (4) and Shane Veenhof reeled one in as well.
Madison will be back on the road next week as they travel to Sioux Falls Christian. Kickoff set for 7pm with pregame beginning at 6:30pm on Jammin Country 103.
