Larson leads the Wood Ducks to their first ever State win

Last week Logan Larson pitched the Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks to their first ever State Amatuer Baseball Tournament. Thursday, Larson struck out 12 batters and pitched the Wood Ducks to their first ever win at the tournament, a 4-2 win over Menno. The Wood Ducks scored all 4 of their runs in the 5th inning. Braden and Brodie Herr each had RBI singles, and Brayden Odegaard drove in two more with a double.

That run support was enough for Larson, who finished 9 innings with just 4 hits allowed.

The Wood Ducks will take on Elk Point in the 2nd round, Monday at 5:30pm.

Games today in Mitchell include Flandreau vs. Alexandria, Platte vs. the Dell Rapids Mudcats, Canova vs. Lesterville, and Northville vs. Kimball/White Lake.
