Lady Bulldogs Softball Splits Pair Of Games

The Lady Bulldogs Softball team split a pair of games on Sunday, their second weekend on the diamond. In game one, they used a four-run second inning to defeat Dakota Valley 8-5. Caymen Ferber drove in a pair of runs from the number nine spot and Kelsey O’Connell scored twice to lead Madison. O’Connell started the game on the mound and was relieved by Amanda Vacanti, who would pitch the final two and two thirds to pick up the win.
The second contest saw Madison out-hit West Central, only to fall 6-1. Vacanti, Allie Kappenman and Rachel Olson all had a pair of hits. O’Connell went the distance on the mound, giving up six hits – walked two and struck out two. Lady Bulldogs softball now sits at 3-1 on the season.
