KJAM and Go Go Burritos award the first MHS Athlete of the week

With the fall sports season now in full swing, KJAM Radio and Go Go Burritos in Madison are presenting a new weekly award, the MHS Athlete of the Week. The award will be presented weekly to one MHS student athlete for his or her performance. Each winner will receive a gift certificate for a Go Go Family meal deal. 

This first recipient of the award is MHS senior Israel Ouverson. A senior on the MHS football team, Ouverson had an outstanding game on both ends of the ball in Madison’s 41-6 season opening win over Belle Fouche. 

On defense, Ourverson recorded 7 tackles, with 1 sack and 2 tackles for a loss. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one of them. He also helped to anchor an offensive line that led the way for Madison to run for 299 yards and 5 touchdowns, while averaging over 9 yards per rushing attempt. 

Madison has a busy week of sports ahead this week, with two events each for Tennis, Golf, and Volleyball. The Football team travels to Dell Rapids on Friday.
