The Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks opened up their season last night, dropping a non-league at Mount Vernon 6-3. Drew DeMers hit a home run for the visitors as Humboldt/Hartford could only muster four hits in the game. The Gamecocks fell to 0-1 on the year while Mount Vernon improved to 4-0.
