Howard, Flandreau, and Sioux Valley among week 1 football winners

The South Dakota High School Football season kicked-off on Friday night. Paul Parsley ran for 67 yards and two scores, as Flandreau beat Deuel 21-0. Ben Ballard also returned an interception 43 yards for a Flyer touchdown. 

Avon, the #1 ranked team in 9B, defeated Colman-Egan 60-38 on Friday. Hayden Pearson ran for 87 yards and a score for Colman-Egan. He also threw a pair of touchdowns to Jackson Zward. Avon’s Aziah Meyer ran for 161 yards at 6 TD’s

Donovan Rose ran for 206 yards and two scores, and his teammate Brock Christopherson added 170 yards and two TD’s, as Sioux Valley beat St. Thomas More 35-0. Sioux Valley held St. Thomas More to just 84 yards in the game.
