DSU’s Deveon Moses and Kaden Eng win weekly honors

Two Dakota State athletes received North Star Athletic Association Football weekly honors for the second consecutive week. Deveon Moses and Kaden Eng received the weekly football conference awards, after leading DSU to a 16-6 win over Jamestown. 

 Moses, a junior cornerback from Houston, Texas, was also named the NAIA Football National Defensive Player-of-the-Week.  It was the first time since 2021 for a DSU athlete to win the national defensive player of the week award, when Noah Guse received the honor.

Moses was also named the conference’s Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

He made two interceptions in the game, and returned one for a touchdown with less than three minutes remaining in the game.  

Eng, a junior safety from Castlewood, was named tthe NSAA Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.

He returned a blocked PAT 97-yards for a two point conversion. Eng also had a fumble recovery in the game and returned it for a 10 yard touchdown.

Dakota State has started the season 3-0, and heads to Valley City State on Saturday.
