After a slow start to the season, the DSU Women’s basketball team picked up their first victory of the season, a 95-83 win over McPherson College at home. Both teams had scoring runs throughout the first two quarters and it was the visiting Bulldogs who held a slim 43-42 halftime advantage. It was a run of 17-6 late in the third quarter that put DSU ahead after three, 70-63 and would maintain the upper-hand in the fourth on their way to the win.

DSU had 11 players score in the contest, led by Lindsey Vogl with 16, Savannah Walsdorf had 15 and Morgan Koepsell with 14. They shot 46% in the contest and 44% from downtown. Now at 1-4 on the season, Dakota State Women will be back in action tomorrow, a part of a Men’s/Women’s doubleheader at the Fieldhouse versus Trinity Bible. You can catch both games on FM103 and amazingmadison.com with the Women’s game slated for a 5:30 start.
