DSU Volleyball sweeps season series from Dakota Wesleyan

Dakota State completed their season sweep of rival Dakota Wesleyan in volleyball Tuesday evening, earning a 3-1 road victory at the Christian Family Athletic Center in Mitchell. It was the first time since the 2014-15 season that DSU had swept the season series with the Tigers.

Sydney Schell powered the Trojans with a double-double of 15 kills and 24 digs. Hailey Wathen added 12 kills and nine digs. Madalyn Groft had a season high 27 set assists.  Maddi Langerock posted a double-double of 15 assists and 11 digs.  

Dakota State volleyball is now 8-5 overall. Tuesday’s win was the fourth win in the last five matches for the Trojans. Dakota Wesleyan fell to 5-6 overall.

DSU is off until next Friday evening when they open their North Star Athletic Association season on the road at No. 8 Bellevue.
