The Lady T’s Volleyball team split a pair of conference games over the weekend, defeating Waldorf University 3-1 on Friday evening and then dropping their first NSAA game of the season on Saturday afternoon 3-1 to Viterbo. 

Friday Nights win saw set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 23-25, 25-19. Barbara Briceno posted a double double with 14 kills and 15 digs, Samantha Zell had 10 blocks (DSU record in a single match) and Nicole Sarringar produced 30 assists. 

In Saturday’s clash with fourth ranked Viterbo, DSU took the first set 25-19 before dropping three straight (26-24, 25-17, 25-21). Zell had 12 kills to lead the Lady T’s attack, Briceno had another double double with 10 kills and 18 digs, Nicole Sarringar and Rachel Johnson each contributed 20 set assists for Dakota State and Peyton Groft had 15 digs.

DSU now sits at 11-7 on the season and 5-1 in NSAA play are tied with Viterbo and Bellevue at the top of the conference and will return to action Wednesday night playing at Bellevue.
