DSU Softball sweeps Briar Cliff

For the first time since 2018, Dakota State Softball has swept a double-header from Briar Cliff. The Trojans picked up the wins on Tuesday afternoon at Thue Field in Madison, by scores of 5-2 and 4-1. 

In Game One, the Trojans broke up a tie game with 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth. Carrington Entringer had 2 hits and scored a run, while Xotchil  Lopez drove in a pair of runs as a pinch hitter. Briar Cliff Struck first in the Game Two, taking a one run lead after the first inning. DSU then scored four unanswered runs, before the game was called in the fifth inning due to lightning in the area.  Sarah Torres had 2 hits with a run scored and an RBI for the Trojans. Madison Aldendifer picked up the win, allowing just one run in four innings. 

The wins give the Trojans an overall record of 13-16 on the season. DSU Softball is back on the road in the NSAA this weekend, traveling to Wisconsin to take on Viterbo in a pair of double-headers Friday and Saturday.
