The Dakota State Men’s Basketball team was also in action this weekend at the South Dakota NAIA Pentagon Classic. Facing off against #6 Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday Night, the two sides traded baskets back and forth throughout the first half until a late run gave Wesleyan a 43-29 at halftime. DWU would maintain that double digit advantage throughout the second half on their way to an 80-62 win.

Dakota State shot 39% in the contest to Wesleyans 45% and DWU won the rebound battle 41-28. Josh McGreal led three Trojans in double digits with 15 points, Gare Ewefada had 13 and Anthony Costello off the bench had 10.

In Sunday’s match-up versus Mount Marty College, Dakota State could not keep up in the second half as Mount Marty came away with a 65-51 win. DSU trailed 33-26 at the break. Costello posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, Ewefada had 13 points and McGreal had 13 points and 7  rebounds.

Dakota State Men are back in action this weekend at the Presentation Classic in Aberdeen.
