DSU Holding First Team Camps on New Field

The start of the school year may be a month away, but high school football players have been practicing at team camps throughout the past several weeks. Dakota State University hosted a 9-man team camp on Tuesday, with 12 schools in attendance. Today and Thursday DSU will host 10 schools for an 11-man camp.

DSU head coach Josh Anderson says both camps have record attendance this year.

Anderson said the camps this week were the first time he and his coaching staff were able to see players on the new Blankley Field.

Anderson and the Trojans will open the season August 29th against Dakota Wesleyan. 9-man and 11B football teams in South Dakota will start practice August 8th, with all other teams starting August 12th.
