DSU Cross Country ready for final season in the North Star
Dakota State University has announced their 2024 women’s and men’s cross-country schedule, which features five regular-season meets and a pair of postseason meets.
Anthony Drealan, who is entering his 12th season as the Trojan cross country head coach, will be taking their squad to the Augustana Twilight meet at Yankton Trails in Sioux Falls. This cross-country meet will see athletes running ‘under the lights’ with numerous colleges from NCAA Division I to NAIA levels. There will be high school cross-country meets prior to the college meet, starting at 6:40 p.m.
Dakota State then travels to Sioux Center, for the Sunflower Open on Sept. 14. They will return to Sioux Center on Oct. 12 for the Defenders Holiday Inn Express Classic.
They traveled to Columbia, Missouri, Sept. 27, then wrap up their regular-season schedule on Oct. 26 in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, hosted by Doane.
The final-ever North Star Athletic Association Cross Country Championships is scheduled for Nov. 8 in Valley City North Dakota.
Both Dakota State women’s and men’s teams finished second in last year’s North Star Athletic Association Cross-Country Championships. The Trojans return NAIA All-America Valerija Curikova, as well as national qualifiers Lindsey Roth, Cody Farland, and Taylor Myers.
