DSU coaches and athletes excited for the future at Event Center groundbreaking

Dakota State University athletics will look a lot different in the future, after yesterday’s groundbreaking for a new Athletics Event Center at Trojan Field. The new facilities will eventually include new baseball and softball fields, a soccer and track field, an indoor practice facility that includes an indoor track, and a new football stadium.

DSU football coach Josh Anderson said the groundbreaking is the culmination of decades of planning.

Dakota State senior Shaylee Debeer, a member of the Lady T’s Basketball and Track teams, spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony. The Deubrook Area graduate said the new facility will be a huge improvement to the Track & Field teams.

Over $45 million has been raised toward the $100 million fundraising goal for Trojans Unite Building Champions as part of the Trojans Unite Comprehensive Campaign.
