Dell Rapids eliminated from Legion State Tournament

The Dell Rapids Post 65 baseball team was eliminated yesterday from the Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament, after a 14-4 loss to Parkston. Dell Rapids had started the tournament with wins over Big Stone on Friday, and Salem/Montrose/Canova on Saturday. Sunday Dells lost to Elk Point-Jefferson, setting up an elimination game with Parkston. 

Dell Rapids took an early 3-0 lead, thanks to an RBI hit in the 3rd inning from Cole Ruesink, and a two run error on Parkston. But Parkston responded with a 10 run 4th inning to take the lead, and Dells would never get close again. 

Luke Bormann finished with 2 hits, including a home run, for Parkston. James Deckert had 3 hits and scored 3 runs. 

Parkston will take on Elk Point-Jefferson today. If Elk Point wins they will claim the Class B State title. If Parkston wins the teams will play again this afternoon in a winner-takes-all championship game.
