The Dakota State Women’s Basketball team dropped a pair of games over the weekend at the South Dakota NAIA Pentagon Classic. On Saturday, they could not keep up with #7 Dakota Wesleyan in a 94-74 loss. DWU led 34-14 after the first quarter and 49-33 at half time. Trojans shot 42% in the game and was 22-34 from the charity stripe. Morgan Koepsell paced the DSU offense with 18 points off the bench and was the only one in double digits, although everyone on the roster did have at least a point for Dakota State.

On Sunday, it was a nip and tuck affair versus Mount Marty College. DSU had a modest two point advantage after the first quarter and Mount Marty led by four, 40-36 at halftime. It was a one point contest at the end of the third and down the stretch, Mount Marty was able to hold off Dakota State just enough for an 81-77 win. Four players scored in double digits for Dakota State, led by Lindsey Vogl with 18, Jessi Giles 16, Lexi Robson with 12 and Savannah Walsdorf had 11 points.

Still searching for their first win of the season, DSU Women’s Basketball back in action on Saturday at home versus McPherson College.
