Dakota State Releases Men’s Basketball Schedule for 2023-2024

Dakota State has announced its men’s basketball schedule for the 2023-2024 season.

New head coach Darren Tighe and the Trojans will kick off their season on the road visiting Briar Cliff (Iowa) on Oct. 26 in Sioux City. DSU will have a jam-packed November with 12 games in the month – all but four being on the road. Their first tournament will be Nov. 9-10 in the Haskell (Kan.) Classic.

The Trojans have an NCAA Division II matchup on the schedule as well this year. They will travel to Minnesota on Nov. 21 to play Minnesota State-Mankato.

DSU will have just a few games in the month of December – two road and one home. On the road against Crown (Minn.) on Dec. 2 and then on Dec. 13 face Midland (Neb.). Their final home game before nearly a month off will be against Hastings (Neb.) on  Dec. 16 in the DSU Fieldhouse.

North Star Athletic Association play will begin after the turn of the calendar. The Trojans hit the road for the weekend for back-to-back contests on Jan. 15-16 against Valley City State and Dickinson State in North Dakota.

NSAA postseason play will kick off on Feb. 21 with the opening round of play. The semifinals will follow on Feb. 25 and March 3 for the NSAA Championship game. Higher seeded teams will be the host location for each round.

The conference winner will receive an automatic bid to the 2024 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Tournament Opening Rounds (first and second) on March 15-16.

DSU will host 11 home games and be on the road for 14 games this season, with four being neutral site games.
