Dakota State Men’s Basketball Opens Season
Dakota State Men’s Basketball kicks off their 2019-2020 campaign this evening as they welcome in Bethany College for a 7pm tip-off at the DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans are coming off of a 9-22 season with a finish in seventh place of the NSAA. Head Coach Gary Garner enters his 11th season at the helm, and feels healthy and ready to go. Nathaniel Rauen returns for his third season as an assistant coach and Trevor Flemmer for his second.
There is a returning nucleus of players for the Trojans and the roster does not feature a Senior, but does have seven Juniors plus Sophomores who contributed significantly last season. Expectations are high, as the coaching staff feels like they have a solid group and believe as the season goes on the team will continue to get better. Coach Garner does mention the team is currently dealing with a few injuries.
Bethany College is out of Mankato, Minnesota as this will be their second game of the season, having defeated Midland on Saturday 80-78. Dakota State Men’s Basketball Team begins their season tonight at home with a 7pm tip!
