Cornbelt heading into final week of the regular season

The Corn Belt League baseball teams will be back on the field this week, after taking the 4th of July weekend off. With just two weeks left in the regular season, the battle for the regular season title is still up for grabs. The Dell Rapids Mudcats sit in 1st place with a 12-1 record in the league play, one game ahead of the 11-2 Canova Gang.
Dell Rapids PBR is 3rd in the standings with an 8-5 record, just ahead of the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks, who are 8-6, and Lennox at 7-6.
This Thursday, the Mudcats will host Colman, PBR is at Flandreau, and Salem will travel to Canova. The Madison Broncos, who are 3-10, will host Lennox Thursday at 7:30. That game can be heard on Jammin’ Country 103.1.
Friday night the two Humboldt-Hartford teams will play each other at 7:30. That game can also be heard on FM 103.1.
The regular season will come to an end on July 16th. This year’s District 4B Tournament will be held in Flandreau, July 21st-26th. The State tournament will return to Cadwell Park in Mitchell, August 2nd-13th. The Dell Rapids Mudcats will be looking to capture their 3rd straight Class B title.
