Conference leader Bellevue takes 2 games from DSU

Dakota State Softball dropped a pair of games to Bellevue on Wednesday in Omaha. DSU’s offense was stymied in the first game, scoring just 1 run on 7 hits, in an 8-1 loss. Bellevue then scored two late runs in Game 2, coming from behind to defeat the Trojans 5-4. Sarah Torres and Michelle Evdos each had home runs in the loss. Xotchil Lopez had two hits in each game. 

Dakota State fell to 16-21 overall record and 11-7  in the NSAA.  Bellevue, who received votes in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches’ national poll, extended their winning streak to six games and raised their overall record to 30-11 and 16-2 in the NSAA.

Both teams play another doubleheader this afternoon, switching sites to Madison.  The doubleheader kicks off at 3 p.m. at Thue Field.
