Chester Area volleybal back to State yet again
2019 markes the 7th season in a row for the Chester Area Flyers at the State Volleyball tournament. That run includes runner-up finishes in 2013, ‘14, and ‘16. And a championship in 2015. Last year the Flyers lost two close matches to Warner and Faith, to finish in 4th place.Â
Chester Area had a 21-7 record after the regular season. Loses to Ethan and Colman-Egan were the only losses to teams in Class B. Chester avenged the loss to Colman-Egan, by downing the Hawks in three sets in the Region Tournament. That win sent Chester into the SoDak 16 against Avon. The Pirates went up 2 sets to 1 over the Flyers, before Chester rallied to take the next two sets and the match.Â
The Flyers enter the Class B tournament as the #2 seed, and will take on #7 Faulkton Area, at 7:15 central time Thursday. The winner moves on to the semi’s, and will play either Ethan or Burke.
