Chester Area starts Class B State Tournament today
The Chester Area Flyers enter today’s Class B State Softball Tournament as the #3 Seed. The Flyers are 17-1 this season, with their only loss coming to the tournaments #2 Seed, Alcester-Hudson.
Chester’s offense has powered them to success this season, as they’ve averaged over 12 runs per game. They have a .436 team batting average, and have pounded out 40 doubles, 9 homers, and 22 triples.
The Flyers will start the tournament this afternoon at 5:30, taking on Deuel. Chester defeated the Cardinals two weeks ago 7-3 in the regular season finale.
Other opening round games today in Class B include Castlewood vs. Elkton-Lake Benton, Gayville-Volin vs. Scotland/Menno, and Alcester-Hudson vs. Florence/Henry.
