Chester Area Girls repeat as State Golf Champions

The Chester Area girls have repeated as Class B State Golf Champions. The Flyer girls beat Miller by 13 strokes in the two day event, putting up a team score of +94. Miller was second with a +107. Clark-Willow Lake was third followed by Estelline/Hendricks and Jones county. 

Individually, Jadyn McDonald of Chester finished in third place. McDonald had shot six over par on day one, and 13 over par on Tuesday, thanks in large part to some struggles on hole 12. McDonald finished one stroke behind Jace Pugh of Miller for second place. Brynn Roehrich of Clark-Willow Lake, took first with a +12.

Also for Chester, Lauren Roberts finished in a tie for 13th shooting a +40, and Cadence Olivier Took 11th place with a two day score of +36.

The Chester boys took fifth as a team, finishing with a total of +64. That was two strokes behind Ipswich. Hamlin took 3rd place.  Hanson was second, just one stroke behind Westington/Springs .

Taylor Kreich of Colman-Egan finished in a tie for second place, just two strokes off the lead of Gavin Colson who finished first for Sully Buttes. Chester’s Alfred Frankenhoff was +17 over his two days, tying him for 15th place.
