Canova Gang wins in Flandreau, with a week to go in the regular season
The Canova Gang traveled to Flandreau for a make-up game with the Cardinals on Wednesday. Canova’s powerful lineup went to work again, this time the bottom three hitters for the Gang combined for 7 hits, in a 9-3 win over the Cardinals.
Canova broke a 3-3 tie with a 5 run 7th inning. Kaleb Carmichel had 3 hits, including a triple, to go with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Tim Gassman drove in 3 runs, and Derek Miller added a solo homer for the Gang. Trey Krier gave up 10 hits over 8 innings, but allowed just 1 earned run while striking out 5.
JaCoby Anderson had 3 hits for Flandreau. Bret Severtson took the loss, after allowing 8 runs on 10 hits with 8 strikeouts.
Canova improved to 11-5, while the Cardinals fell to 7-9.
