Canova 14U falls to Salem, 16U Gang pick up win

Canova’s 14U baseball team lost to Salem on Wednesday by the final of 17-4. Salem pounded out 10 runs in the top of the 4th inning to put the game away. Parker Randall led Salem with 2 hits and 3 RBI. Clayton Hoffman drove in 2 runs and also picked up the win, tossing 3 shutout innings. Jaxen Jaynes had the lone hit for Canova. 

The Canova 14U team will travel to Wagner on Monday. 

The Canova Gang’s 16U team won 6-2 over Salem-Montrose on Wednesday. Canova put up 2 runs in the 1st inning, and 3 more in the 2nd, to build up a lead they would never give back. 

Nolan Mentele had 2 hits and 3 RBI. Weston Remmers and Luke Koepsell each had multi-hit games for the Gang as well. Mentele also picked up the win, allowing just 2 unearned runs and striking out 9 batters in the complete game win.
