Bulldogs run down Canton 38-16

Madison scored four touchdowns in the 2nd half and the Bulldogs came back from an early deficit to beat Canton 38-16 on Friday night. The C-Hawks scored on the game’s first possession, driving 49 yards to take an 8-0 lead. Madison ended their first drive with a 29 yard field goal from Tyler Troxell, to make the score 8-3 at the end of the 1st. 

 

The Bulldogs scored their first touchdown with just 37 seconds left in the first half. Cohen Hahn delivered a 9 yard TD strike to Shane Veenhof to put Madison up 10-8 at halftime. 

 

Jordan Pedersen opened the 2nd half with a bang, taking the opening kick-off back for a 72 yard touchdown. Ben Brooks added a 51 yard scoring run near the end of the 3rd to make it 24-8. In the 4th quarter, Caleb Hodges added two touchdown runs and sent the Bulldogs to their 5th win of the year. 

 

Hodges finished 16 carries for 118 yards and 2 TD’s. Hahn was 8 of 13 for 93 yards. Shane Veenhoff caught 6 of those passes for 81 yards. Jordan Pedersen had 13 tackles to go with his kick return score. 

 

Madison improved to 5-3, while Canton fell to 3-5. The Bulldogs will wrap up their regular season at home this Thursday, when they host Milbank at Brian Kern Family Stadium.
