Bulldogs Round Out Regular Season at Home: Game Preview – Madison vs Viborg-Hurley
The Madison Bulldogs (8-11 overall, 3-3 Region 3A) will round out their regular season at home when they host Viborg-Hurley in the Madison High School Gym.

The Cougars (14-5 overall, 7-0 Region 4B) have been unsteady over this past near calendar month. Going back-and-forth splitting their last eight games at 4-4 with no winning or losing streak as they traded wins and losses during that span.
This team started their season 10-1 and are not gelling on a consistent basis as of late. They’ve faced stout opponents in recent weeks like Hamlin, Howard and Lennox. They have the ability to score the ball at a high rate though as they average 63.3 points per game. They’re not bad on defense either holding opponents to under 50 points per game at 46.9 a game.
They’re led by head coach Galen Schoenfield in his 14th season. He has a 233-94 overall record and is an undefeated 14-0 in Region 4B play.
Madison
Madison will need to bring it against the Cougars. They’ve seen struggles again of late as they’ve let some winnable games slip. Teams like the Cougars who have won close games often and stuck with top competition, will be on top of their game. The scout shows Madison can let things fall between the cracks even when they’re up big.
The Bulldogs have talent from top to bottom and need to take that next step immediately as Region play comes on Tuesday. After tonight, it’s win or go home for Madison. The time to become the team you need to be is now. Madison allows just as many points on defense as they score on offense, which is 57.4 points per game.
This team is coming off a nice outing on Monday against Milbank in which they had a pair of 20+ point scorers in the game for the first time this season. Madison’s starts to games have been better as the season has gone on, it’s the second half that needs work.
