Bulldogs Return Home for First Time in 2024: Game Preview – Madison vs Tea Area
The Madison Bulldogs (4-2 overall, 2-0 Region 3A) return home for the first time in 2024 as they host the Tea Area Titans in the Madison High School Gym.
Tea Area
Coming into the game, Tea Area has had a rocky start to their season. Sitting at 3-4 overall and 0-2 in Region 4A, with all but one loss being by 10 points or more. The Titans average 54.7 points per game through seven games this season.
Tea Area has a group that likes to shoot it from three. They’re very active defensively with hands in passing lanes to come away with steals often if you’re not careful. To their dismay, they don’t seem to be a very efficient team shooting the ball. For instance, in their latest outing against Vermillion, the Titans shot below 30% from the field and from three.
Both Vermillion and Madison have faced a mutual opponent in Tri-Valley. Each came out on top, but Vermillion had a 20+ margin of victory and Madison won by just three.
Madison
The Madison Bulldogs come into this game after their worst performance of the season against Castlewood. Madison went from defeating their previous two opponents by 20+ points, to losing to their latest one by 30+ points.
Madison is led in scoring by Ben Brooks with 12.3 points per game. He is the only Bulldog player to score in double digits in every game so far this season. Though he is averaging almost three more points per game than last season, it seems like we haven’t seen his full arsenal on display just yet.
The Bulldogs will need to limit turnovers, along with scoring early and often. Get themselves back to playing Bulldog basketball. They’ll have the advantage tonight at home where they are currently 3-0.
Tipoff tonight is set for 7:30pm with pregame beginning at approximately 7:20pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
