Bulldogs Looking to Get Back in the Win Column: Game Preview – Madison vs Deubrook Area
The Madison Bulldogs (2-1 overall, 1-0 Region 3A) return to action tonight to face the Deubrook Area Dolphins at home in the Madison High School Gym.
Deubrook Area
The Dolphins (1-2 overall, 1-1 Region 2B) come into this game after garnishing their first win in their last outing and Madison is coming off their first loss. Deubrook Area averages 54 points per game, just one point more than the Bulldogs average (53). Definitely not a team to be counted out by any means.
Though no stats from their latest game have been posted, the first two games have. In their first two games, the Dolphins were led by senior Jacob Jorenby. He is averaging a double-double so far this year on 20.5 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Jorenby is also averaging 3.5 steals to lead his team. He is a very active two-way player who will surely hoist up plenty of shots.
Madison
Madison is led in scoring by junior Ben Brooks who averages 13 points per game. This group has a nice start each time out, but haven’t been able to sustain it for four quarters. Giving up a whopping 31 points to Lennox in their last game. Allowing them to come back and hand the Bulldogs their first loss.
The Bulldogs have only scored more points in the second half than they did in the first just once this season. Happening in their season opener and no game since. The Madison offense is potent, but they’ll want to prevent themselves from being known as a team that can’t get it done late in the game. If they don’t, it’ll come back to haunt them come playoff time and maybe even before.
Tipoff tonight is set for 7:30pm with pregame at 7:20pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
