Bulldogs Look for Next Road Win: Game Preview – Madison vs Dell Rapids

The Madison Bulldogs (5-3 overall, 2-0 Region 3A) get back to business tonight as they face the Dell Rapids Quarriers on the road.

The Quarriers (4-4 overall, 1-2 Region 3A) have not fared well at home this season. Sitting at a donut – an 0-3 record at home. Madison even won the latest meeting between the two teams last season. That win began the losing streak for Dell Rapids that formed in this season that dates back to last at a total of four games.

Dell Rapids averages 52.4 points per game through eight games this season. With the bulk of the scoring coming from senior guard Jack Henry. Henry averages 20 points per game on the year and is the engine of the team.

They’re led by head coach Ty Hoglund. He is in his second season and posts a 20-10 overall record and 5-5 in Region 3A.


Madison comes into this game after a win over Flandreau this past weekend. With the win, they remain undefeated at home this season, going 4-0 in Madison so far.

Ben Brooks leads the way in the scoring department for the Bulldogs. Averaging 11.9 points per game through eight games this season. The only other two players who have led in scoring in a game this season for the Bulldogs are Andrew Comes and recently, Charles Callahan.

This group has a chance to begin a new win streak and prove they can win on the road. They’re 1-1 on the road so far and face a team that has yet to protect their home court this season.
