Bulldogs Face Physical Test Tonight in Dell Rapids

For the first time in 3 years the Madison football team is coming off a win in the season opener. Madison dominated all phases of the game last week in a 41-6 win over Belle Fourche.

The Bulldogs ran for nearly 300 yards in last week’s win, with big plays from at least three different backs. Much of the credit for that production can also go to the offensive line, something Madison thought would be a strength coming into the season.

Head coach Joe Bundy says they’ll need that group to be at their best tonight, against the two time defending champion Dell Rapids Quarriers.

Dell Rapids lost their season opener, 22-14 to Dakota Valley. That loss was the first time the Quarriers had lost a game since losing the 11A title game to Madison in 2021. Since then they had rattled off 24 straight wins with 2 state titles.

Madison and Dell Rapids play tonight at 7pm in Dell Rapids. The Bulldogs pregame show, presented by Edward Jones in Madison, begins at 6:40 tonight on AM 1390, and AmaingMadison.com
