Bulldog baseball wins a pair over the weekend

Bulldogs baseball put up 12 runs in each of their games over the weekend, picking up wins over Groton and Miller. On Saturday, Madison overcame an early 3-run deficit to beat Miller 12-4. Trey Smith and Nate Ricke each drove in runs in the 3rd inning, as the Bulldogs scored five runs and took the lead for good. 

Peyton Wolf picked up the win Saturday, giving up 3 runs on one hit over 4 innings. Smith finished 2-for-2 with 2 RBI. Aspen Dahl was also 2-for-2 with 3 runs scored. 

On Sunday the Bulldogs led all the way, defeating Groton 12-2. Addison Gehrels had a pair of hits with a run and an RBI. Dahl and Smith each scored twice, and Jared Kennington picked up a pair of RBI. Mickale Dohrer pitched a complete game for Madison, giving up just 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5. 

With the two wins the Bulldogs are now 11-4 on the season. Madison will travel to Hamlin Area tonight at 7pm.
