Both Madison 14U baseball teams picked up two wins Wednesday, ahead of Sioux Falls Tournament this weekend

Madison White 14U took a pair of games from Flandreau on Wednesday night. Madison swept the double header by scores of 13-3 and 11-1. 

In the first game, Madison White scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead. They added 2 more in the 2nd, and 5 in the 5th for the win. Clayton Weber had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Oakley Mees and Wyatt planting each scored 3 runs. 

Madison picked up another 10-run rule win in the second game. But most of the scoring happened in the 4th inning. Up 2-1, Madison White scored 9 runs in the 4th for the win. Ethan Sims was 3-for-3, with a run and an RBI. Beau Luvaas and Jacob Theede combined to throw 4 no-hit innings. They gave up 1 unearned run, walked 4 and struck out 9.

Madison White is now 6-5 on the year. 

Madison Gold 14U also picked up a pair of wins Wednesday, beating West Central 17-8 and Volga 13-2. 

Madison jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first 2 innings of Game One. Tucker King drove in 4 runs on 3 hits. Luke Johnson and Nolan Wire each had two hits, with Johnson scoring 3 times. Beynon Lingbeck drove in 3 runs as well for Madison. 

Against Volga, the Madison Gold bats didn’t come alive until the 4th inning of their 13-2 win. Madison scored 11 runs total in the 4th and 5th innings for the win. Henry Veenhof had 2 hits, scored twice and drove in 4 runs to lead the offense. Bringham Lindley also had 2 hits, with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Four Madison pitchers combined to hold Volga to just 2 runs on 2 hits, with 9 strikeouts. 

Madison Gold now holds a record of 6-3. Both Madison 14U VFW teams are scheduled to play in a three day tournament in Sioux Falls this weekend.Â
