Babcock hired as new DSU Volleyball assistant

Dakota State University head volleyball coach Amy Veenhof has announced the hiring of Laura Babcock as her new assistant volleyball coach at DSU.Â
Babcock, an Aberdeen native, played at Presentation College for five seasons. She was a five-year starter as a defensive specialist. She is the school’s all-time digs leader with 2,435 digs. She also holds the career records in serve/receive percentage, serve receive attempts, and most sets and matches played.
Babcock was an NSAA Volleyball First Team All-Conference selection in 2020. She was also named to the conference’s Second Team All-Conference in 2021 and 2022.
Besides her athletic accomplishments at Presentation, Babcock was the North Star Athletic Association Scholar Athlete from 2018-22 and a two time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.Â
Babcock coached at Matchbox Recreation, a volleyball club in Aberdeen, during her career at Presentation. She began her duties at DSU in late May.
