2020 SD Sports Hall Of Fame Class Announced

The 2020 South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame Class was announced and it favors some familiar names to the Madison area. Headlining the class of 10 is Madison’s Kevin Leighton, who hit over 500 career home runs in his amateur baseball career. Dakota State alum and Redfield native Darwin Robison, who also played in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, was a headliner and fellow NFL player Doug Eggers, from Wagner and SDSU Alumni, is also on the list.

Others included Bruce Conley of Sioux Falls, Ken Ruml of Howard, Heather Sieler of Huron, Lavern Diede of Freeman, Randy Fletcher of Lennox, Ron Mitchell of Sioux Falls and Steve Withorne (deceased). Ruml is one of the most successful wrestling coaches the state has produced.

The banquet to honor the 2020 Class will be held in April at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Tickets will be available in March.Â
