Veryl Haynes, 77, of Bridgewater passed away of natural causes on June 2, 2020 at his home.  A private family service will be held on Saturday, June 6 at 10:30 am at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.  Burial will be held at the Bridgewater Cemetery at 11:30 am and is open to the public.  An open house will be held from 1-4 at the Bridgewater Fire Hall.

Veryl Haynes was born December 9, 1942 to William and Lucille (Williams) Haynes, Sr. near Long Valley, SD.  He attended country school and high school there.  Veryl started trucking for Donald Hancock in 1959 and joined the National Guard in 1963.  He married Sharlyn Bochman on September 30, 1967.  They lived in Long Valley and Spearfish before settling in Bridgewater in 1987.  Veryl trucked all his life.  He especially enjoyed his time working for John Deere for 15 years, where he developed a love for tractors.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  Veryl belonged to the American Legion Post 111.

He is survived by:  his wife, Sharlyn “Shar” of Bridgewater; sons, Monty and girlfriend, Charlene of AZ, Mark (Wanda) of Alexandria, SD and Mathew (Christine) of Spearfish, SD; grandchildren, Preston, Casey, Riley, Wyatt and Jacob; siblings, Lynette (Darrel) Batie of Hermosa, SD, Audrey Brooks of Rapid City, SD, Kathy (Merlon) Bochman of Gillette, WY, Doug Haynes of Hot Springs, SD, Don (Jolene) Haynes of Philip, SD, Sarah (Bob) Hopkins of Pahrump, NV, Loren (Anna) Haynes of Martin, SD and Doreen (Randy) Harter of Rapid City, SD; sister-in-law, Janelle Haynes of Martin, SD; step-mother, Bonnie Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant children, Michael and Michelle, infant brother, Larry and brother, Lyle.
