Tomas Guillermo Toucedo, 90 of Arlington, SD passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Avantara Arlington.

Tomas was born on January 26, 1930 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Marcelino and Maria (Martinez) Toucedo.  Tomas recieved his education in Buenos Aires, leaving college, he traveled to Senatobia, Mississippi for the sumer in 1955 to begin learning how to raise cattle and work with them.  He returned to Argentina that fall to tell his father that he wouldn’t be returning to law school but was going back to the US to pursue his passion of working with (Polled Hereford) cattle which he turned into a lifelong job.  Tomas earned many awards, including  top herdsman, three years in a row at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Tomas married Elisa Schonberg and to this marriage two children were born, Sara and Marcelino.  Tomas became a US citizen on January 23, 1985.

Tomas is survived by his children, Sara (Allen) Eggerss of Avoca, IA and Marcelino (Carla) of Arlington, SD; five grandchildren Nathan (Shelby) in Texas, Marshall, Avoca, IA, Taylor of Brookings, SD, Tomas and Tyson of Arlington, SD and two great-grandsons, Landyn and Elliot. Two sisters Ana and Haydee both of Argentina.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Anna Eggerss.

He was very proud to be and Argentinian as well as an American.

Family services will be held at a later date in Iowa.

The Johnson-Henry Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
