Shawna Mellom

Shawna Mellom, age 47, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Ava’s House Hospice Center in Sioux Falls.

Funeral service will be 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 13th at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel in Madison. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St.

Shawna Leigh Williams was born June 20, 1977 in De Smet, SD to Eislander and Laurel (Keller) Williams. She graduated from De Smet High School in 1997. After
graduation, she moved to Madison and became a resident of the ECCO (Valiant Living) Community. Once she arrived in Madison, she was quick to make friends due to
her non-judgmental and positive personality. She loved spending time with all of her family and friends, crossword puzzles, word searches, watching movies and especially the Hallmark Channel. She also competed in several Special Olympic competitions throughout the years.

On April 9, 2005, she married Harold Mellom at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, SD. Shawna was loved by all and will truly be missed and forever will be held in all the hearts she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Mellom of Madison, SD; siblings-Jenny (Jeff) Dunn of Volga, SD, Jason Williams (Brandi) of Waterloo, IA, Scott (Jeni)
Williams of Watertown, SD, Erin Schwab (John Harbosky) of Brookings, SD, Joe Williams (Ashley Vander Leest) of Watertown, SD, Megan (Josh) Van der Vliet of
Flandreau, SD and Angela (Calvin) Cadotte of Webster, SD. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many great-nieces, great-nephews, along with
several cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aunt Susan D’ La Rotta, Grandma Nancy Kretchman.
