Sasha was born December 8, 1986 to Jennifer (Stanga) and Rick Kolbeck in Brookings, SD. She was the second of six children in the family. She grew up primarily in Salem and graduated from McCook Central High School, where she was active in vocal music, band, theatre, oral interpretation, quiz bowl, and cheerleading. She had the experience of traveling to Europe with the Midwest Ambassadors of Music to sing in a choir with her sister Heidi and great uncle, Alan Stanga.

Her biggest joys were her two sons, Dax and Rowan. She was a gifted artist and loved all things creative, a trait her children inherited. She was so proud of all their many pieces of art and writing.

She was self-employed and produced and sold handmade jewelry online and at local businesses. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping and having bonfires. She had a special affinity for nature, especially red-wing blackbirds. She loved books and music and was a movie buff, often peppering movie quotes into any conversation.

Sasha was a free spirit. She had a colorful signature style to complement her fire-red hair. She will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Dax and Rowan Phillips, co-parent Ryan Phillips, partner Jeremy Barse, parents Rick and Jennifer (Stanga) Kolbeck, siblings Heidi (Wyatt) Urlacher, Rory (Danna) Kolbeck, Phoebe (Matthew) Liebe, Ivy (Justin) Freese, and Gretchen Kolbeck, and her nephews Harper, Mathias, and Jude Urlacher (Heidi and Wyatt), Malaki (Phoebe and Matt), niece Meryl Kolbeck (Rory and Danna), and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rich and Jeanie Kolbeck, Ted Stanga and Elaine Larson, and her aunt, Karen Stanga.
