Rose Reinicke, age 82, of Madison, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Dougherty Hospice
House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 11 AM on Wednesday, October 7th at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Clint
Thorson officiating. Visitation will be 12-7 PM on Tuesday with the family present from 5-7 PM at
Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel concluding with a prayer service at 7 PM. Burial will be in Colton
Cemetery. While attending, it is requested to wear a facemask. The funeral will be livestreamed on Our

www.rustandweilandfuneral.com. Rose Ilene Mulder was born December 29, 1937 to Peter & Nina (Schelhaas) Mulder in her family home
in Edgerton, MN. She attended Edgerton Christian School until 8th grade and later in life completed her
GED. In 1956, she married Vernon Baartman. On February 5, 1966, Vernon was killed in a car accident.
In 1973, she married Dean Reinicke and they made their home on a farm near Madison. Rose is a
former member of First Reformed Church in Colton, SD and now a member of Our Savior Lutheran
Church in Madison.
She worked for Cornie Van Helden in Colton, doing finishing work on cabinets and woodwork in the
homes that he built. For many years, she worked at May & Scofield until her retirement in 2005. Rose
was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching Vernon race his car,
square dancing, bowling, getting together with her friends, watching her Christian TV station, and
listening to Christian & bluegrass music. She will be remembered for so many things by so many people,
but she will be remembered as the one who made the BEST Rice Krispie bars around and that she always
prayed daily for her family & friends in need.
Rose is survived by her two sons-Norman Baartman of Wentworth and Michael (Diny) Baartman of
Chester; two daughters-Brenda (Rory) Zillgitt of Wentworth and Linda Baartman of Madison; step
daughter-Sheila Reinicke of Lawton, OK; two step sons-Gary (Deb) Reinicke and Curt (Erin) Reinicke both
of Madison; 12 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren; one sister-Rena Tinklenberg of Edgerton, MN;
two brothers-Alvin “Red” (Evelyn) Mulder of Edgerton, MN and Bob (Bev) Mulder of Sheboygan, WI and
several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband-Vernon; grandson-Travis Van Den Hemel; 2nd husband-Dean Reinicke; two sisters-Sharon Stutzman & Harriet Van Peursem and one brother-Rolland Mulder.
