Odessa Josephsen

Odessa Josephsen, 86 of Arlington, SD died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at  Avantara Arlington.

Odessa Ellen Anderson was born on June 8, 1934 at Badger, SD to Fred and Sophie (Enrued) Anderson.  She was baptized at Badger Lutheran Church and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington.  She graduated from Arlington High School in 1952. Odessa married Leon Josephsen on August 11, 1954 at Pipestone, MN, the couple lived at Trent, SD and Tyler, MN where Leon taught school. Following his retirement they returned to Arlington where she worked at the Dairy Mart and the Bob Allen Co.  They wintered in Arizona for 11 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Leon and three sons, Kevin (Berdyne) Josephsen, Jon (Jahne) Josephsen all of Arlington and Jeff (Brenda) of Alpena MI and a number of grand and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephsen will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington with Pastor Elisa Berndt McMullen officiating, burial will be in the Arlington City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington. Mask are requested.

In lieu for flowers the family request that memorial be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church of American Legion Post 42 in Arlington.
