Monica McGillivray, age 63, of Madison, died on December 29, 2021 at Madison Regional Health System.

Funeral service will be 11 AM on Tuesday, January 4th at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Monday at the funeral chapel and will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Winfred Cemetery. Monica Joy Brendsel was born on August 22, 1958 to Robert & LaVonne (Paulson) Brendsel. She graduated from Garretson High School. She met Chuck McGillivray thru racing and on August 27, 1977, they were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Madison, SD.

Monica worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Keppenman and then changed careers and began working at the Madison Hospital. She worked there for 20 years and shortly after taking on the Home Health Care position, Monica retired due to health complications.

Throughout her life, Monica enjoyed camping, racing, spending time at the lake and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck McGillivray of Madison; daughter, Angela McGillivray of Norman, OK and brother, Wes Brendsel of Columbus, OH.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Connie Lenz & Deb McClelland.
