Marilyn Justman

Marilyn Justman, age 79, of Vermillion, formerly of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center.

Memorial mass will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 21st at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Anthony Urban as the Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Immediately following mass there will be a luncheon in the church basement and then inurnment in the family plot in Ramsey Baptist Cemetery near Montrose.

Marilyn Irene Moose was born July 30, 1945 in Madison, SD to Ernest & Irene (Markey) Moose. She graduated from Orland High School in 1963 and then continued her education at General Beadle where she completed her bachelor’s degree for teaching and music. Once she graduated, she worked a brief time in Omaha, Emerson and a Christian school in Sioux Falls before staying at home to raise her children. While at home she taught piano lessons from her home and she played organ for several Catholic churches in the Sioux Falls area. Marilyn loved to read, crochet, her crafts and her flower garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Hovden and their son, Jack of Vermillion; daughter, Laura (Craig) Kallhoff and their children, Ben & Julia of Sartell, MN and her son, Joe Justman of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Moose.
